Our medical leadership is managing the current situation as well as reviewing national, state, local and hospital policies about pandemic influenza, and will issue updates as needed.

As a reminder, anyone with flu-like symptoms is advised to stay home from work or school to avoid spreading infections to others. In addition, frequent hand-washing and cough etiquette can lessen the spread of respiratory illness.

Patients & Visitors: Do You Have the Flu?

A high number of Influenza cases have been reported nationally. Baptist Hospital recommends that children of all ages and any visitors who are experiencing any of the following symptoms should NOT visit patients in the hospital:

• Fever
• Cough
• Sore Throat
• Chills
• Body / Muscle Aches
• Difficulty Breathing
• Fatigue
• Diarrhea
• Runny Nose or Nasal Congestion
• Headache

Visitors should always perform hand hygiene before and after visiting a patient. Remember to always cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then discard tissue in trash receptacle. Patients presenting with the above symptoms should wear a surgical mask tied securely to cover mouth and nose.

Un número alto de casos de gripe ha sido reportado en escala nacional. Baptist Hospital recomienda que los adultos y los niños/a que tengan cualquiera de los sintomas siguientes NO deben visitar a pacientes en el hospital.

• Fiebre
• Dolor de garganta
• Dolor de musculos o cuerpo
• Cansancio
• Congestion nasal o goteo de nariz
• Tos
• Escalofrió

Los visitantes siempre deben lavarse las manos antes y después de visitar al paciente. Recuerde de siempre cubrir su boca al toser o cuando estornude con una servilleta desechable y tire en el bote de basura. Los pacientes que se presentan con las mismas sintomas deben llevar una mascara de cubra bocas.
