Core Curriculum / Educational Conference
A variety of general medicine and subspecialty conferences are given daily from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday. The subspecialties covered include allergy/immunology, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, neurology, nephrology, rheumatology, pulmonary/critical care medicine hospital medicine, and general internal medicine.

Attending Rounds
Attending Rounds are held from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 noon Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In this small group setting consisting of two resident teams, an attending physician conducts rounds on appropriate teaching patients while emphasizing bedside teaching, physical diagnosis, and pathophysiology.

Morning Report
The Chief Resident holds morning report on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 A.M. PGY-1 residents present cases to the group proceeded by a discussion focusing on the differential diagnosis, diagnostic strategy and management. This forum is fun and interactive serving as comfortable learning environment for medical students, residents and attending physicians alike.

Medical Jeopardy
Medical Jeopardy is held in lieu of the last morning report of the month. This activity provides an enjoyable and relaxed setting with which to review pertinent teaching cases encountered over the past month.

Medical Grand Rounds
Medical Grand Rounds are conducted on the first Wednesday of each month. A variety of internal medicine and subspecialty topics are presented by visiting and local physicians/professors regarding new and updated information.

Professors' Rounds
Professors' Rounds immediately follow Grand Rounds and provide an opportunity for the housestaff to interact with a visiting professor in a short case/Q&A format.

Resident Conference
Residents are afforded the opportunity to give one conference yearly on a topic of their choosing.

Journal Club
The Residents' Journal Club is held on the second Tuesday of each month. This conference, which consists of a resident-led discussion of an original article, is designed to educate each resident on the intricacies of research methodology and its applicability to the medical literature.

Clinicopathologic Conference
CPC is held every other month and is designed in the same format as that of the New England Journal of Medicine. It consists of a case presentation, followed first by a discussion of its clinical significance, then by a visual presentation and discussion of the pathologic findings of the case.

Continuing Quality Improvement
The purpose of CQI is to provide a forum to discuss medical errors, morbidity, mortality, and error prevention. This conference is designed to elucidate problems with healthcare delivery both in terms of systems error and human error.
