This monetary scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to an incoming PGY-1 resident for recognition of a commitment to humanism in medicine, encompassing altruism, respect, empathy, integrity, compassion and service.
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage students in the their pursuit of humanism, particularly as it relates to the mission of our health ministry, and to their future in the practice of medicine. As the numbers of students entering internal medicine continues to decline, the scholarship will assist in attracting students with a commitment to humanism to our program. The recipient will hopefully develop a lifelong commitment to this pursuit and mentor others to this career path.
