Museums, Symphonies, Performing Arts

  • Frist Center for the Visual Arts - The Frist Center for the Visual Arts is dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local artists as well as major U.S. and international exhibitions.
  • Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum - The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s mission is to identify and preserve the evolving history and traditions of country music and to educate its audiences. It functions as a local history museum and as an international arts organization.
  • Schermerhorn Symphony Center - The Nashville Symphony perform more than 100 classical, pops and special concert events each season.
  • Tennessee Performing Arts Center - Among its many operations, TPAC presents a series of Broadway shows and special engagements.  TPAC is also home to the following three resident performing arts organizations: Nashville Ballet, Nashville Opera, and Tennessee Repertory Theatre.
  • Ryman Auditorium - The Ryman Auditorium is the former home of the Grand Ole Opry and a National Historic Landmark.  It provides tours that showcase legendary stars who have performed on its stage.  In the evening, there are shows and concerts scheduled. 

Parks
- Nashville is home to many parks throughout the city. Here are the two most frequented.
  • Centennial Park – located on West End.  This park houses the replica of the Parthenon which is definitely a site to see and particularly beautiful at night.
  • Edwin and Percy Werner Parks -  These are located 9 miles from downtown and span 2684 acres of forest and field.  There are picnic areas and numerous hiking trails throughout

Nashville is home to many fantastic restaurants.  Here are a just a few:

  • Bluebird Cafe – The Bluebird Cafe has gained a reputation for presenting the best original country and acoustic music.  Because its main attraction is the music, quiet is requested at all times during a performance.  You can eat, drink and enjoy the music.  Reservations are often required.  615-383-1461
  • Pancake Pantry – Both tourists and locals alike swarm to the Pancake Pantry for breakfast.  It has been in business for over 50 years and is so popular that there is often a line out the door to get in.
  • Noshville – Noshville is an authentic New York style delicatessen great for breakfast or lunch
  • Loveless Café and Motel – The Loveless Café is nationally acclaimed and frequented by celebrities, tourists and locals.  It is typical southern cooking at its best.
