For patient and associate safety, Baptist Hospital has recently implemented a new process for visitors to the Labor and Delivery unit, located on the third floor of the hospital.
Upon admission, each patient is given up to five visitor armbands to distribute to family and friends at her own discretion. Only visitors wearing armbands will be allowed in restricted areas of the Labor and Delivery unit. A waiting room is available near the Labor and Delivery unit for other visitors. While a waiting room is available, we encourage visitors to visit new moms once they have delivered their baby and moved to a postpartum room on the hospital’s seventh floor. This allows new moms to recover after the birth of their baby. Once patients are moved to a postpartum room the number of visitors allowed is not limited unless requested by the patient, physician or hospital staff.
